Offshore Wind Ecological Programme - Dashboard

Offshore wind energy contributes to the realization of renewable energy but this may not have major ecological effects. To estimate these effects, knowledge is needed. Until 2016, this was arranged separately for each wind farm owner, after which it was taken up centrally and overarching by Rijkswaterstaat, on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate (EZK): Wozep. The research has so far provided important insights on the effects of wind farms on birds, bats and marine mammals. More information can be found at the Wozep page at the website of the Noordzeeloket.
